carry on

You've been out in space such a long time
Why do you look at me that way
You've been circling with lights glowing
Looking for a place to call your own

If I didn't care, would I be here
break me down, take me in
I'm shadowed by your insanity
and carried by your wind

Your world seems so far away
So far that I can't reach you
Your colder than you were yesterday
Too cold for me to break through

Your need for me is growing
but your love for me is gone
Your hate builds and my mind fills
with ways to carry on

stephanie

she was just a lonely girl
living in her lonely world
her blonde hair, blue eyes
hadn't saved her yet

though she slept alone
in her lonely little home
her choice, the voice
that lived inside her head

Oh sweet stephanie
what did you do to me
to make me miss you so

Sweet stephanie
you took the best of me
and then you had to go

living in the big M.I
doesn't let you question why
people come, people go
it's just the way it is

but in a moment's time
the girl had stole my heart
her love, like water
had surrounded me

Oh sweet stephanie
what did you do to me
to make me miss you so

My sweet stephanie
you took the best of me
and then you had to go

Oh, no...

and if I had the chance to do it all again
Ah... Ah...
well I would drop my dreams and I would take you in
Ah... Ah...
into my arms, and let you feel my love so free...
oh stephanie

just a lonely little girl
living in the cold cruel world....

Oh sweet stephanie
what did you do to me
to make me miss you so
My sweet stephanie
you took the best of me
and then you had to go

Whoa, Oh...
I miss you so

more time

More time to cry
More time to ask why
Less time spent living
than spent wanting not to die

Wake up each morning
celebrate another day
Say goodnight each night
knowing it could be the last

More time to think
aboutall the things left undone
Regrets and memories
merge into one

welcome to my experiment

Yes, yet another blog by the one they call Nadon
What will I think of next
It's less about reaching or yearning
and more about time well pressed

Take a journey with me as I try to learn to craft better lyrics.

At this point in my life I am one half of The Back Alley Project, a duo based out of Jackson, MI and have collaborated with Andy Valentine on sixteen songs to date. I am a vocalist and strive to develop better lyrics for the songs that Andy and I create.

My first step is to dive into Successful Lyric Writing: A Step by Step Course and Workbook, by Sheila Davis.

I'll post my thoughts and creations as I move though each chapter and hope that you'll join me for the adventure. Feel free to leave feedback or constructive criticism whenever you feel like it.

Let the party begin.
